The two victims were among eight people killed in a car crash Thursday afternoon on the city’s west side, police said.
The crash happened around 4:15 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Main Street, according to the Houston Police Department.
The four occupants were identified as 20-year-old Tyler Ritchie, of the 100 block of Main Street; his 17-year, 6-year old brother, Jonathan; 18-year theres a 21-year their mother, 17-month-old Kaylee; and 15-year a 22-year of the club.
Two other adults were also injured in the crash.
Authorities said they’re still searching for the driver of the car.
They also released surveillance footage of the crash from the club and found the teen driving with an expired tag.
A woman who lives in the area and identified herself as a friend of the family was the first to identify the driver and the victim.
“My friends have a very young family and they have a daughter that’s very young and she just graduated high school and was starting her first year of college,” the friend said.
“Theres a lot of things going on in their life that they need to deal with, and this just kind of comes out of nowhere.”
Police said they believe the young driver was under the influence of alcohol and that he was traveling in the wrong direction.
They did not immediately release the names of the other people in the car or the injuries to them.
