(Supplied: Katoana Koana) Koana is a beautiful and popular pool in Koanas south-east Queensland, which is renowned for its pools, beaches and colourful vegetation.
The team has won three state championships and a number of local championships since 2009.
The Koana Swimming Club have also won two national championships.
The swimming club has been involved in many community programs and activities, including the koana beach park.
“We are very proud of the national championship and how it has impacted the community and our community,” Koana’s team principal John Dyer said.
“It is a great honour to have won the national championships and we hope that people can experience it in their own community.”
Dyer also thanked the Koans local residents, including residents of the Koanas town of Koana.
“They’ve really helped us out with a lot of work and we’re really grateful for that,” he said.
In the meantime, the Koanas family are still looking forward to watching the national finals live on ABC television.
“The Koanans have always been good to us and they always want us to win,” Dyer added.
The ABC’s Amanda Seddon said the national title was “a big deal for all involved” and said the Koanias team was pleased to be “recognised”.
“It’s a big moment for the national team and it’s a great result for Koana,” Seddons report said.
The National Swimming Championships are currently being held in Queensland, Australia.
