A plastic pool at a North Carolina school has closed after a child fell into it.
The child was found by the pool’s staff on Thursday, and the school district is now reviewing the safety of the facility, said a spokesperson for the Rutherford County School District.
It was not immediately clear how the child fell or how long the incident took.
According to the school’s website, the pool is equipped with two swimming pools and two baby swimmers.
The pool has an artificial turf field and is also equipped with an artificial pool slide and a playground.
The district says there are no other children participating in the swimming program at the time of the accident.
The Rutherford County Schools, Rutherford County Public Schools and the School District of St. Francis in North Carolina are investigating the incident.
The incident was reported to school officials Friday morning.
